JARED POLIS MAKES HISTORY AS FIRST OPENLY GAY GOVERNOR

               Jared Polis of Colorado became the first governor to be openly gay on this past Tuesday. Polis, a happily married man with two kids is not afraid to hide who he is. Jared Polis spoke of his win, and how his identity proves how far we’ve come as a country. “We've proved that we're an inclusive state that values every contribution regardless of someone's sexual orientation or gender identity.” Jared Polis wasn’t the only LGBTQ+ political figure to make history this year. Because many previous walls and standards that were burned down for American politics in 2018, some are calling the results of the 2018 election a “rainbow wave.” Jared Polis becoming governor of Colorado shows how far we have come as a country; especially shown because him being gay was never a public reason that people didn’t want to vote for him.
